Jeff's no stranger to bandstands or playing behind vocalists, at cocktail lounges to big-band dances.  He also understands about entertaining, having grown up around vocalists in a New York musical show-biz family. Billie Holiday's accompanist was Joe Springer, who also played for Jeff's mother, Virginia Reinhard, known by her stage name Peggy Lane. Billie and Jeff's mother were very close.
